Hello, Annie May was my grandmother, Josiah Ackerman May was my great-grandfather and Susanna Ackerman my Great-great-grandmother. Annie May was born in Cranbury Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire on 19th August 1894. On 24th November 1915, she married Arthur Edward Howsego, a Merchant Navy seaman. They had 4 children- Arthur Edward Howsego born 1916, Twins William Charles Howsego (my father) and Norah Annie Howsego born 1919 and Douglas Alfred Howsego born 1922. My grandparents lived all their married lives in Bishopstoke, Eastleigh. Annie May died at home in June 1976.


Josiah Ackerman May was born at Luzborough, Romsey, Hampshire on 30th October 1864. He was my Great-grandfather. He married a widow, Jane Herridge nee Walters at the Congregational Church, Winchester,Hampshire, on 9th October 1886. Their daughter Annie May was my Grandmother.

On 24th November 1915, she married Arthur Edward Howsego, a Merchant Navy seaman, at The Congregational Church, Jewry Street, Winchester. They had 4 children- Arthur Edward Howsego born 23rd May1916, twins William Charles Howsego (my father) and Norah Annie Howsego born 13th December 1919, and Douglas Alfred Howsego born 1st April 1922. Annie (May) Howsego died at home in Bishopstoke, Eastleigh, on 2nd June 1976.
