Stephen Maize was enumerated at Thompson, Surry County, North Carolina for the September 26, United States Census, 1850. He was noted as born 1846 in North Carolina as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are male Shelton Maye, female Martha Maye, female Rebecca Maize, female Matilda Maize, female Nancy Maize, female Thankfull Maize, female Mary Maize and male Nathan Maize.[1]
