DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
If Israel was born in 1770, his mother, Martha Norvell would have only been 10 or 11 years old. I am researching this line also and there are a number of women named as potential wives for this particular Abraham Mayfield, most either Mary or Martha. I need to do a bit more research before I declare Abraham and Martha as his parents. I will keep you informed. Israel is my daughter-in-law's 4th great-grandfather.
