After researching and sourcing both Mayfield Mayfield-846 and Mayfield-978, I believe there is sufficient evidence to support a merge.

Mayfield-978 and Mayfield-846 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same death date and place, same birth state

I feel this is the same person.
