Birth

Elizabeth Mayo was born in 1693. She was the daughter of Daniel Mayo (1664-1715) and Sarah Howes (1667-1734).

Marriage and Family

She married John Lewis (1689-1754) on 15 March 1716 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Children of the Lewis-Mayo Marriage

  1. Sarah Lewis was born on 5 May 1717 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts. She died on 17 November 1726 in the same place.
  2. George Lewis, 1st of name, was born on 16 July 1719 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts and died on 19 July in the same place.
  3. George Lewis was born on 27 June 1720 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He died on 21 March 1809 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.
  4. Elizabeth Lewis was born on 2 November 1722 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts. She died on 13 September 1734 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts.
  5. John Lewis Jr. was born on 15 April 1725 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Death and Burial

Elizabeth died on 21 October 1757 at the age of 64. She was buried in the Old North Cemetery, Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts. Find A Grave: Memorial #45013278

There is a replacement headstone available which is inscribed: Here lies the Body of Mrs. Elizabeth Lewes wife of Mr. John Lewes who died Octr 21st 1757 In the 64th year of her Age.
