The dates on the tombstone do not agree with the obituary, as follows:

Pike County Democrat January 24, 1896, Page 1 Petersburg, Indiana Lived a Century Mrs. Nancy Davis, mention of whose death was made last week in the Spurgeon items, was one of the oldest persons in southern Indiana at the time of her death, having lived six days more than a century. She was a member of the Mason family, who are well known in Pike county, a brother David, who died a short time ago, being one of the substantial citizens of the county. Mrs. Davis was born in Kentucky in 1796, and moved to Pike county more than half a century ago. For a number of years she has been totally blind, although in good spirits and a good conversationalist at all times; recounting many incidents of the early days of her long life. She was an earnest church member for upwards of ninety years. She possessed more grand children than probably any other one person in Indiana, they reaching back to the fifth generation. The funeral of this most excellent lady was largely attended.
