Biography

Thomas was the third child and first son in the family of John and Hanora Loughlin McCormick. He was likely born on the family farm in Peel Township, Wellington County. (Lot 12 Concession 1).[1] In 1891, the family was still living in Peel Township, and Thomas' father was farming with his brother James.[2]

By 1901, the family had moved to nearby Wellesley township in Waterloo County and Thomas was helping his father with the farm.[3]Thomas was still farming with his father at age 31, Lot 10, Concession 12, in Wellesley.[4] Thomas may have been working for the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1921 while his father and younger brother were still farming in Wellesley township.[5] He may have been double counted in the census that year.[6]

He moved into Elmira by 1940 and died in Elmira Private Hospital when he was 84. He is buried in St. Theresa Roman Catholic Cemetery, Elmira, Woolwich Township.[7]
