Please do not connect to the McCarthy Reagh families in Glengarrif without any sources unless you provide evidence that are not family trees.
Jane McCarthy is said to be the daughter of Florence McCarthy of Clodane in only one source:
This source has several errors, not the least of which is that Florence and wife Elana had only four known children: Teige dsp Tower of London, Donal McCarthy, Finnegan McCarty (Florence), Cormac; all sons and no daughter Jane.[2] Another major error is the statement that John Marshall, purportedly Jane's husband, was a Captain in Cromwell's army. All other sources state he was captain in the army of Charles I.
Jane is said to have been born in 1596, too early to be the mother of the only known or suggested children of John Marshall of Westmoreland County, Virginia.
Since the John Marshall Jane supposedly married lived only in Westmoreland County, Virginia, Jane could not be the mother of other children linked in error to her and to John Marshall (abt.1596-bef.1688), as they were all born in Isle of Wight County, Virginia:
Jane is not the daughter of Finnian (Florence) MacCarthy Reagh (1560-1640) nor the mother of any children linked to her purported husband, John Marshall (abt.1596-bef.1688).
It is my opinion that Jane McCarthy is a fictional creation of Col. James E. Saunders and should be treated as a non-existent person. The wife of John Marshall, son of Thomas Marshall, is unknown. (Shirley Dalton 22:56, 30 April 2023 (UTC))

Examination 5...... Ancestry Westminster, London, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1558-1812 Within this Documentation it does show.. the same john Marshal everyone is having issue about first doesnt for the most part mentions Neither Nelson nor Newton.. it mentions John Marshall...did if fact married a jane ? (Marshall)..thus fails to mentioned a last name hence the (?).. on that note did mention both John and jane did begot Thomas.. it shows birth and baptism. Thomas Marshall born 15 Mar 1655 Baptized 5 days later As to this John i do in fact conqure with he concept that Captain John Marshall is the same that served as a Captain of the Army under King Charles I of England immigrated according the first examination in the year 1650 in virginia and died the year 1688 now this concept of this split john marshall issue has been ressolved from this notation about nothing more than a common human error... Nothing More!!! John Marshall is one of the same.. as for Jane ? Marshall i will solve this Ruccus and go straight the source ..instead of arguing amongst each other and bickering in estatic form.. maybe we all should go straight to the source.... now i will continue to conduct a thourough investigation on this matter.. and since we are not seeing eye to eye on nothing must i do it myself .. Just note that im the type that says i told you so. Now im risking my life getting this information myself.. going straight to all sources.. apparentlly yall can find common ground.. on this issue and work together.. on the matter i will do it myself.. i hate being right .. just so you know.. i hate it.. i will conduct this investigation myself in person straight to the source.. to the very heart of the matter.. it will be enternal investigation.. now.. i agree with the last 2 previous posts.. john marshal is the same john marhsal.. as the next.. this i have confirmed maybe with this new information can shed light on this confusion...now if yall excuse me i have work to do...
Thanks!
Thanks!
edit - on closer look, seems all four are intended to represent the same person (I also added links)

found a John Marshall, immigrant to Virginia c1626.
His profile is obviously not another duplicate profile for Martha's husband, but the info on his profile might help sort out the profiles currently attached.
John Marshall (1603-1685)
Cheers, Liz
As for her half brother "Thomas Butler, 10th Earl of Ormond" he was born 31 years before her father.
I suggest we remove all the Irish connections and just leave the information relating to Virginia.
