Shady Ann McCarty was born in 1834 in Edgefield District, South Carolina[1] the daughter of Thomas McCarty and Martha Stewart.[2] She married Wesley Rhinehart sometime before the 1850 census. The couple had at least one child. There is no reliable information on any children. Shady Ann died 1886 in Ruston, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana and is buried at Douglas Cemetery, Lincoln Parish, Louisiana. [3]
