Jane was the daughter of John McClellan and Mary McKenzie
If the Gedcom record is correct; Jane died at age 10 months and would most likely have been buried at the Alton Cemetery. She is not listed on any of the family headstones. She could have been buried on the family farm
Conversation with the Alton Cemetery steward provides this information: there were no records made of the names, birth dates or death dates for people buried in this cemetery before 1927.
The steward also confirmed that on some occasions, additional corpses often but not always children were included in a grave for someone else if a grave had already been dug for the other person.
The ground where the cemetery is located is rock covered by a thin layer of soil, this made digging graves a difficult task.
There are no records of her existence, she appears on numerous Ancestry trees, however the only sources are other Ancestry Trees. .
A possible source if she existed is her 2 times great nephew . Update will be posted if he can be contacted.
