Mary Jane Molly McClellan was born on July 10, 1860 in Youngville, Tallapoosa, Alabama, United States, daughter of William Marion McClellan (1838–~1901) and Amanda Elizabeth Bailey (1833–1908).
In 1870, Mary (9) was living in Hackneyville, Tallapoosa with her parents, William Mclelland (32) and Amanda Mclelland (32); and Mary Mclelland (9), Verginia Mclelland (7), Susan Mclelland (6), Robert Mclelland (5), Lucy Mclelland (3), and Cornelia Mclelland (5/12). [1]
