The following is an excerpt from "New World Immigrants" concerning Robert McClellan and his arrival aboard the Henry and Francis in 1685. I also included the entire list of Covenantors aboard the ship so that researchers can look for other familiar surnames connected to th3e McClellans by marriage.
In a previous message from Clive McClellan on the list dated 5 Feb 2009, he states:
"You are right that Margaret McClellan Lockhart is a daughter of Robert McClellan of Barmagachan who died in Scotland in 1703. As you say, she married Gawin Lockhart; fortunately there is at least one documented land transfer that mentions Robert McClellan as Gawin Lockhart's father-in-law: "Calendar of Records in the Office of the Secretary of State. 1614-1703 By William Nelson, Berthold Fernow1691 2 Feb 6 Do Gawin Lockhart to John Compton both of Woodbridge for a lot at Crane Plain Woodbridge being one third of a tract of 120 acres formerly laid out to Joshua Bradly and bo t by grantor's father in law Robert Maclelaml who conveyed this third to grantor as a gWt in April 1689 196"
