Biography

Born to Donald and Leah (Bidle) McClintock. Married Lynne Johnston in Colfax April 16, 1955.

STANLEY RAY McCLINTOCK, lifelong area resident, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 12, 2015 at the Henderson House in Colfax. He was 80. Stan was born in Colfax May 21, 1934 to Donald and Leah (Bidle) McClintock. He graduated from Colfax High in 1952 and shortly thereafter he enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1954 and returned to Colfax. During this time Stan met a pretty young lady who was working for Dr. Ripple. After a short courtship Stan married Lynne Johnston in Colfax April 16, 1955. They made their home in Colfax and Stan did landscaping work for Deysenroth’s. He went to work for the State Highway Department and retired in 1986 after many years as the sign tech. He used to tend bar at the Hyde Out and at Joe’s Tavern. He was active in the Colfax Volunteer Fire Department for over thirty years. He also plowed snow for several people around town with his Willy’s Jeep. Stan and the entire McClintock family took great pride in maintaining the upkeep of the many parks around Colfax for over 40 years. Stan was instrumental in the development of McDonald Park as well. He and Lynne were members of the Colfax Elks for many years. Stan had many interests including helping with Boy Scouts of America, hunting, fishing with friends and family, camping, boating, going to Rodeos, teaching his kids and grandkids to drive his Willy’s jeep, gardening and anything that could keep him in the outdoors. Heart surgery slowed Stan down in 1986 and again in 2000 but his love for the outdoors kept him working around his house and yard as much as he was able. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lynne; their children, Donald “Bones” (Elaine) McClintock and Trudy (Gary) Libey all of Colfax and Lori McClintock of Pullman; 5 grandchildren, Briana (Jay) Kimble, Derek McClintock, Rachelle (Taft) Kortus, Patrick (Dawn) Libey, and Jesse McClintock; 7 great grandchildren and by his sister Sharon (Lowell) Moys of Walla Walla; nephew Jeff (Kelly) Moys, niece Marla (Brett) Morrell. Stan was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorial gifts be given to McDonald Park or the Colfax Fire Department. On-line Guest book is at www.bruningfuneralhome.com Graveside services to be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 11:00 AM at the Colfax Cemetery for his family and friends. [1]
