Biography

When Agnes Nancy McClung was born on February 24, 1729, in Spotsylvania, Virginia, her father, Mr. McClung. Her parents not named. She married Joseph Rutherford Walker on March 10, 1749, in Augusta, Virginia. They had 11 children in 23 years. She died on May 6, 1789, in Scott, Kentucky, at the age of 60. She is not the daughter of Rebecca Stuart and John McClung. Their daughter Nancy married Captain William Moore 1749-1842 on 8 Feb 1779 in Rockbridge. There is a Nancy Agnes McClung who is the daughter of James McClung who settled in Rockbridge in the early 1740s and there are at least 5 late 18th century and early 19th century Nancy Agnes or Agnes Nancy McClungs in the area, but none were the daughter of Rebecca Stuart. There are many uncertainties about the McClung clan, but there was no "Agnes" as a daughter of Rebecca Stuart, only Nancy who married Moore and Jennet who married William Moore's brother, Senator David Moore. There are many, many errors on find a grave, and the attribution of Agnes Nancy's parents is one of them.

McClung-1441 and McClung-191 appear to represent the same person because: Same DoB and Death, Married to same person. I believe these two to be duplicates.

This is NOT the daughter of John McClung and Rebecca Stuart. Their daughter named Nancy was born in 1748 and she married Captain William Moore. You may be confusing her with the other John McClung's family which also settled in Rockbridge around the same time
