Jane McClung was born on Jan 20, 1820, in Newberry District, SC. She was the fourth child of Jaima McClung and was the twin of Mary McClung. Jamima 's husband deserted the family when she had borne him five children. Jamima used her maiden name for the children's surname instead of that of their father. The children were never allowed to use any name but McClung, and no one ever spoke of the absent father. [1]
She resided before 1830 in Newberry District, SC. She resided in about 1835 in Newton County, GA. She was the first wife of Rev. James Henry Lee Wesley about 1841.
