The Times Record, Troy NY, 7 Jan 1964 L S. McClure Dies; Sought State Senate Leonard S. McClure Sr., who was a candidate for state senator in 1952 and who was active in Troy Area sports and fraternal functions, died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. He had been under the care of a physician. He was born in Troy, son of the late L. Albert and Margaret Madigan McClure. He attended St. Peter's School, School 3, and was graduated from Troy High School. He served as a carpenter's apprentice and was a partner in McClure DeAllaird Contractors and Builders. He was a member of the carpenter's local and for the last eight years had been employed as an Architect Estimator for the New York State Department of Public Works. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a former member of the Holy Name Society of that church. He was a member of Troy Council, K of C; Brownie AC Bowling League, All Troy A.C., and served as a bowling league official. He is survived by his wife, the former Marion F. Rogers; five daughters, Mrs. Frederick J. Keville, Wynantskill, and Miss Elizabeth Ann McClure, Mrs. Charles J. Lais, Mrs. John H. Wilfore, and Miss Joan McClure, all of Troy; four sons, Leonard S. McClure, Jr., Shreveport, Louisiana, James D. McClure, Green Island, Paul E. McClure, of Troy, and Airman 3 C Walter J. McClure, USAF, and 13 grandchildren. The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 from the McLoughlin Funeral Home, 6th and Glen Avenues, and at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick's Church, where a Requiem High Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
