DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

McClure-1539 and McClure-508 appear to represent the same person because: Both are married to Married to Lillian (Lilly) "Lillian" McClure formerly Bowen Bowen-4220 DOB does not match but 508 has no sources.

McClure-2991 and McClure-1539 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicates: Both are married to the same person and have the same DOB and DOD.

Married to Lillian (Lilly) "Lillian" McClure formerly Bowen

My wife's GEDmatch is linked on McClure-2991. I've asked Clair (McClure-2338) to correct the error in her GEDmatch link on McClure-1539 so that we can compare results.

Merge discussion happening on McClure-2991, thank you for your input!

Adding John's wives ... before my changes, McClure-1539 had no mother, no wives, and the bio said only

"several marriages extensive activity in the Revolutionary War"

Jerry, do you have some sources for John Jr. that you haven't added yet?

The match came about when I started to add profiles for his wives. After entering the basic information, matches came up for both wives. These matching profiles were attached to McClure-2991.

McClure-2991 does have some sources, and Fred removed the "Dr" and "C" from the name due to lack of reliable source, to facilitate the merge.

Do either of you disagree that this is the same person?

Jerry and Fred, thank you both for responding to my proposed merge so quickly! First, I ended up here because of I was correcting errors in the father of this person (obviously, I think they are the same) by means of adding another source to what was on his page and correcting the profiles of his children to match the two sources now present. The changes I made were primarily in the birth dates for his daughters, as dates that were closer to their marriage dates had been used for their birth dates, resulting in "father dead before birth of child" errors.

The source I added has information about spouses (and children, but I didn't go that deep for this pass), so I added these profiles where they were missing.

(Out of characters, will post another msg)

I have removed the Dr. prefix (from Higdon Family Association) and middle initial C. (We Relate) due to lack of primary source info, and to facilitate the merge.

McClure-1539 and McClure-2991 do not represent the same person because: 2991 ha s some inaccurate info ie this John McClure who is a supposed Physician is not an accurate depiction of this John McClure. Best to go with # 1539--throughly researched by me for many years, J. Owen

McClure-1539 and McClure-2991 appear to represent the same person because: McClure-1539 built from the top down, McClure-2991 built from the bottom up, they came together when I was adding wife Lillian to 1539.
