Gilmer Clark McClure was born November 1891 in West Virgina to Joseph "Joe" A. McClure and Helen Clark. Joe's marriage to Helen was likely his first marriage, his second was with Ida, who was only 19 when Joe's son Gilmer (from his 1st marriage) was already 9 years old at time of 1900 census.
Joe's third marriage was to Mary, as indicated in the 1910 census when Gilmer was 18 or 19, and stepmother Mary was 20.
Gilmer is listed in the 1900 census with 2 younger sisters; Ina, age 6 (also from Joe's previous marriage to Helen Clark), and Virgie, an infant-possibly the daughter of Ida, Joe's second wife.
It's unclear if Gilmer and his sister Ina's mom Helen Clark died at a young age, or left Joe and her two young children.
Gilmer and Belva "Belvie" Ora Bowman married in 1913 and had numerous children before his death in the evening of April 13th, 1944 at 52 years, 5 months old of pulmonary tuberculosis, which his death certificate noted he'd had for "years". His father Joe died of the same disease around the same time as Gilmer.
