DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Moses by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Moses:
The 1860 Pike co., Indiana census list my 2nd great grandparents, Holbert Steele McClure and Nancy McClure as neighbors to Mark McClure.
Holbert’s parents were Alexander and Esther neé Campbell McClure, Adams Co., Ohio. Nancy’s parents were Alexander H and Jane née Gibson, Grant co., Kentucky.
I’m thinking Mark and Holbert were cousins but my head begins spinning with all the names. I appreciate having Wikitree but I’ve yet to master being comfortable with citations. Thanks to all who’ve helped me along the way.

Moses Elwood McClure Sr., his wife, Eleanor (McPherson) McClure, an Alexander McPherson (dates not right for Eleanor's father, so a namesake of her father), Moses' and Eleanor's son John, and a Charles McClure (I'm not sure who Charles is) are buried here:
