Scant Sources
We find Ann Curry lacking hard documentation. She has been considered to be the daughter of William Andrew McCombe (1704-1788) and Rebecca young (1715-1780)
How can Elizabeth Arrive in 1788 but be married in Virginia in 1737? This profile still needs a lot of work.
Found multiple copies of DEAT DATE. Using 15 MAY 1819Array

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Ann by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Ann:

I have reset McCombe-37 and Curry-873 as matches. This is not to say that they are duplicates, only that there are very close similarities that needs clarification - exact same dates of birth and death; exact same places of birth and death; in both instances the mother has Young as LNAB. Please do not merely reject without providing at least a semblance of an answer as to why these similarities exist (it is not enough to state "These profiles have different family attached to them.") Edit Corrected WikiTree-ID.
Yes, this may be a match. But they appear to have a different mother. The parents need to be merged. These records lack excellent documentation. There is no need to rush into a merge without a good understanding of who is who.
Perhaps if the profile were cleaned up we could all help each other see how to properly figure these things out and hopefully come to a conclusion. Since you've been trying for several months I am going to add some sources and go ahead and put things in order from where this profile was obviously merged at least once:) Thoughts? Cheers! Becks
I have an idea. Why don't we try to at least get transcriptions of some of these sources instead of mysterious links to data behind a pay site like Ancestry. This will demystify the data a lot. I will try to do some of that this evening.
I have the Wills from the Elizabeth McCombs who is often connected to our Robert Curry as well as Robert Curry's will and both give a complete list of children/ grandchildren...that don't match...therefore nullifying Elizabeth McCombe from Dr. Robert Curry b.1817 and another man by the same name. Anne that married our Robert Curry was his first cousin and had the same surname; something many people think is an embarrassment and omit from perso al trees etc possibly leading some to combine and conflate Ann and Elizabeth as I've seen FamilySearch recently even had her listed as a single person named "Ann Elizabeth McCombe Curry...
I cannot tell very well from my phone, but it appears the mother, Rebecca Young, is also a duplicate. The duplicate parents should be merged first before merging duplicate children.
Has anything new come of the Curry-873 McComb(e)-37 question? The dates/ locales are still the same on both profiles... I had her parents as Rebecca Young and Andrew McCombe but originally traced Ann and her husband through their daughter Margaret, my 6th great grandmother.
Is there a reason the birth location is listed as Londonderry when all cited sources give Ulster, Northern Ireland for both husband and wife? Just wondering the source in case I should propose that change on familysearch, ancestry, myheritage, geni, findagrave etc Thanks! Becky
I am unable to find any primary source for Londonderry as place of birth specifically (other than Ancestry family trees, which are not primary sources). Of course Londonderry is in Ulster, which in the modern era is the political entity known as 'Northern Ireland'. I would think that until/unless a specific reference to a city or town can be documented, the historically best birthplace listing for now would be 'Ulster, Ireland' and I have changed it to this. Comments welcome..
Richard, I'm seeing some indications elsewhere that the McCombe married to a Robert Curry is getting confused with a Robert who is brother of Curry-2624. I haven't had time to try unraveling the Curry confusion in this timeframe, so don't have much information of my own, just what I'm seeing from other's research on other pages. "From Whence We Came" states the only information on Dr. Robert's wife Ann is from a prior genealogy work "American Genealogy by Verkus", that says her maiden name was Currie. One place I found indicates she may have been a cousin, but doesn't back it up.
This is what brought me back here a year later (from my other posts above).... FamilySeach has a had a recent surge of activity with this family and people swearing that he had 3 wives, including 2 different women named Elizabeth McCombe, both born 1727- the same year as wife Ann. It is a mess and several direct descendants like myself want to have uniform but definitely the most accurate information and I read something similar to your comment on there as well as a confusion between a Robert Curry and a Doctor Robert Curry born around the same time but that both profiles were using the same will as a source which is also being done on WikiTree...Any chance you've looked in to this further?
I believe the birthday is probably wrong for either Ann (McCombe) Curry, or Ann Curry, or both. Let's investigate very carefully. I don't think they are duplicates; I think they are sisters-in-law.
Is a match to Curry-873, but is split because there is no good information on who her parents are. These two profiles represent the two current theories, neither of which appear to be well documented.
