Biography

James A. McCormick was the son of S. A. McCormick and Abigail Adams.[1]

He married Temperance P. "Tempie" Franklin about 1881.[2][3]

The couple had no children.[4]

In the fall of 1893 Celia A. Patterson filed Homestead land claim # 28,353 which Noah D. Caton, Preston J. Gantt, James McCormack and John A. Franklin, of River Falls, Alabama signed as witnesses to the continuous residence on said land as part of the land claim.[5]

In September of 1894 Lorenzo J. Feaster filed a homestead land claim which William J. Franklin, Jackson M. Franklin, James McCormack and John A. Franklin all of River Falls, Alabama signed as witnesses to his continuous residence on said land as part of his land claim.[6]

McCormick-1741 and McCormack-417 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate; surname spelled numerous ways in records; same given names; same parents. Jennifer just keep the McCormick spelling, but please merge these. Thx! Cuzzin Lisa

McCormack-417 and McCormick-1741 are not ready to be merged because: No sources for porposed merge, so no way to tell for certain if they are the same person or not. Setting as unmerged until documentation is added.

McCormack-417 and McCormick-1741 appear to represent the same person because: I believe they are the same. I stumbled onto them by accident.
