Charlie McCormick MCCORMICK, CHARLIE
Charlie McCormick, 41, died suddenly on Sunday, June 21 in Alachua. He was born and raised in Gainesville and lived with his wife in Alachua. Charlie was a respected registered respiratory therapist, working at Alachua General Hospital for 20 years, and has been employed at the VA Hospital in Lake City for the past two years.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife, Lori, and daughter, Leah Bryan, in-laws, Jim and Peggy Dent, stepfather, Donald Berghman, brother, Chad Berghman, sister Amanda (Steve) Cox, niece, Izzy and nephew Logan. Charlie is also survived and loved by his wife's entire family, as well as his dog, Sadie. He was an avid fan of the Rolling Stones and a true Gator.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude McCormick, his mother, Judy Berghman, grandparents, Charlie and Vivian McCormick, and his beloved dog, Jake.
There will be a casual gathering of family and friends to celebrate Charlie's life on Thursday, June 25, at 4:00 PM at WILLIAMS-THOMAS WESTAREA FUNERAL HOME 823 NW 143rd St.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in Charlie's name to the Alachua County Humane Society, 2029 NW 6th St., Gainesville FL 32609.
