Biography

John Augustus was the fourth of seven children in the family of Patrick and Johanna Linehan McCormick[1] and the third to die in childhood.[2] He was probably given the middle name Augustus to distinguish him from the first child born, who was named John Bernard.

Three of the children are buried together with their father in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Macton, Ontario. John Augustus died at six months of age.[3]
