Biography

Bernard was the sixth of nine children in the family of John and Hanora Laughlin McCormick, likely born on the McCormick family farm in Peel Township, Wellington County, which his father was farming with his older brother James.[1]By 1901, the family was living on their own farm in Wellesley Township in adjacent Waterloo County.[2]

By 1911, Bernard was living in London, Ontario, boarding in the home of Lillian Murphy, working as a railroad brakeman.[3]

Bernard married Loretta Regan in London, in 1921, when he was 35.[4]

According to his gravestone, Bernard died in 1941, when he would have been about 55 years old.[5]He is buried with his wife at St. Peter's Cemetery, London.[6]
