Hello,

My name is Guy. I am a WikiTree Mentor and a Leader.

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. If you are new to Genealogy we have some great tips on getting started, Getting Started with Genealogy.

Then you can connect your family to the greatest global family tree on the planet.

And remember, we have the best team to help you through our marvelous site.

Hi ,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Guy ~ WikiTree Mentor

Thanks for volunteering, Doug. You are now a member of the WikiTree community. Welcome!

Options for getting started:

Key Concepts:

1. Sourcing makes the difference between genealogy and mythology.

2. In order to build one collaborative tree, each person must have only ONE profile.

Let me or another Mentor Team member know if you have questions.

I see that you have had DNA testing.

If you are interested, WikiTree has a special DNA Project. Information on WikiTree's projects may be accessed from the FIND link, at the top right of most WikiTree pages; select PROJECTS from the drop down box.

Contact Kitty Smith if you would like additional details about the DNA project. You might also like to search for discussions tagged with DNA in our forum, G2G.
