Ralph Eugene McCreery, 48, R.R.1, Gaston, a native and lifelong resident of the community, died late Thursday afternoon while working at the Harvey Johnson farm east of Gaston.
MrCreery was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army in the Philippines. He was a member of the Gaston American Legion and the Gaston Methodist Church. Son of James and Mary Addie Brown McCreery.
Surviving are his wife, Martha E. McCreery; two daughters, Mrs. Raleen Propes, R.R.3, Muncie, and Mrs. Janice Garton, Muncie; two sons, Michael and Danny, both at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary A. McCreery, of near Gaston; three brothers, Herman and Alpha, both of Muncie, and Otto, Gaston; four sisters, Mrs. Blanche Lightfoot, Muncie, Mrs. Ruby Wheeler, R.R.6, Muncie, Mrs. Opal Carnes, Gaston, and Mrs. Bessie Hughes, Anderson; and three grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Parson Mortuary.
