Biography

William's parents, Alexander McCullough and Susan Marshall, met aboard ship coming to the U.S. in 1798 or early 1799, he from Ireland and she from Scotland.

Billy served with Andrew Jackson when he was 14 yrs old. He signed up in Georgia in 1814.

He came to Mississippi and there met and married Sally Warren, around 1821 in Pike Co. She was the daughter of John Jackson Warren and Priscilla Vaughn.

Billy and Sally had six known children:

  1. Winston (1822 - 1913) married Sally Greer
  2. Benjamin (1824 - 1898) married 1st Savilla Gunnels and 2nd Ann America Williams
  3. Ollie b 1829 married Jesse Jefferson Reeves
  4. Willliam "(1832 - 1879) married Lenora A. Reeves
  5. Martha "Belinda" (1844 - 1926) married 1st Jacob Allen Reeves and 2nd William E. Beard
  6. Sarah Abye b 1847 married Andrew Allen Moak
