Margaret's name is shown as Peggy McCullough Morrow on her NC Marriage Bond to James Bonds in Mecklenburg County, NC. She may have been married previously to a Morrow. Her sister, Jenny, also married a Morrow.

Margaret's father's will was probated in Mecklenburg County, NC on 15 Apr 1825. In his will, John McCullough showed his wife as Catherine and their children are listed in the will as: Joseph, Isaac, John, James, Elijah and William who was deceased. Daughters listed are Margaret Bonds, Lydia Fincher, Mary Patton and Jenny Morrow."

Margaret's parents died about 6 weeks apart. John McCullough died 31 Jul 1824 and Catherine died 9 Sep 1824. Both were shown as 78 years old per records at Providence Church in Mecklenburg County, NC. The church is several miles from Charlotte, NC near the Union County, NC line and is now known as Providence Baptist Church at 5709 Philadelphia Church Road, Marshville, NC 28103 and phone (704) 624-5121 and website www.pbcmarshville.org.

The will of Margaret's sister, Lydia Fincher, was probated in October 1845 in adjoining Union County, NC and one of the witnesses was Margaret's brother-in-law, Richard Bonds, her husband's brother.
