Jessie Margaret McCullough was born on 20 Jan 1900, the fifth of nine children, the neglected middle child as she used to joke [1]. She married William Murdoch Macdonald [Macdonald-5179] on 23 Feb 1923 at Chalmers Church at Dundas and Dovercourt in Toronto, Ontario, Canada [2]. Jessie played the piano by ear from the age of three and traveled across Canada and parts of the US playing piano with her sister, Dorothy, for musicals. She played the piano as a volunteer at nursing homes. Later in her career, she worked as an interior decorator for Freda James Studio in Toronto. Jessie developed breast cancer in 1975 and received one of the first adjuvant chemotherapy drugs, melphelan. Unfortunately, that drug probably caused the acute myeloid leukemia that lead to her death on 20 Dec 1978 [3].
