Biography

Sarah McDaniel was born October 27, 1823 in North Carolina, the daughter of John McDaniel (1768-1851) and Annie Feagans Bennett (1770- ).

Sarah married Stephen F. Blanton on January 28, 1845 in Rutherford County, North Carolina. They had the following children:

  1. Julia Ann Blanton (1847 - 1947)
  2. Samuel Martin Blanton (1854 - 1926)
  3. Elijah Sweezy Blanton (1856 - 1934)
  4. Lydia Magdalene Blanton Womack (1860 - 1901)

Stephen served in the Civil War and was held prisoner on Hart Island, New York. After the war, the family moved to Texas. [1]

Sarah died January 25, 1889 in Whitewright Fannin County Texas. She is buried at Blanton Cemetery, Fannin County, Texas, USA. [2]
