Biography

Mary McDaniel was born in South Farnham Parish, Essex, Virginia, in 1718. [citation needed]

She may have been the woman who married Jeremiah Burnett c.1738 and bore his children.[1] However, there is much disagreement on that point. [2][3] Or she may have married a man named Jeremiah Buryal in Maryland that year:

Name: Jeremiah Buryal
Spouse's Name: Mary Mc Daniel
Event Date: 16 Oct 1738
Event Place: Saint Peters Parish, Talbot, Maryland [4][5]

Mary McDaniel died in Albermarle, Virginia and is buried in Patrick County. [citation needed]

Research Notes

Jeremiah Burnett did NOT marry Mary McDaniel, she married Jeremiah Buryall. I have attached the original document in the photo section. The Maryland State Archives has the St. Peter's Parish, Talbot County Md records. The original entry reads Jeremiah BURYAL not Jeremiah Burnett. I will be disconnecting any Burnett children associated with Mary McDaniel.

Given Susan's comment below (which she should have linked to the paper attached to Jeremiah's profile), any objections to detaching Mary as spouse and mother of the Burnett children? She was clearly married to a Jeremiah Buryall, not a Burnett.

EDIT: since it affects this profile, I've linked directly from this profile to the pdf that clarifies her marriage info.

Mary McDaniel was NOT married to the Jeremiah Burnett bn 1718. Jeremiah Burnett did NOT exist and was fabricated by June Bork

Mcdaniel-346 and McDaniel-1852 appear to represent the same person because: Still more work to do, need to source and verify or remove extra children, but these ARE duplicates and should be merged. McDaniel is correct LNAB, yes capitalization matters.

Mcdaniel-346 and McDaniel-1853 do not represent the same person because: Do not appear to be the same person. Mary McDaniel 346 maiden name is McDaniel, so her male sibs are not likely named Gatewood.
McDaniel-1852 and Mcdaniel-346 do not represent the same person because: Mary McDaniel does not appear to be a child of John Gatewood.
