James was 28 years old when he married. He was a farmer. He married Mary (transcriber's interpretation McArawould or McArawoulf) McAmmond. on July 18, 1871 at Ottawa, Carleton, Canada. Mary was 22 (born 1849) and the daughter of John (transcriber's interpretation McArawould?) McAmmond and Jane Foster.
