Leo Aloysius McDonnell[1][2] was born on 02 JUL 1886 at Walla Walla, Walla Walla, Washington. Walla Walla Co., WA[3][4] When he registered for the World War 1 Draft,[5] and for the World War 2 Draft, he gave his middle name as Albert.[3])
When he registered for the World War 1 Draft, Leo was single and worked as a grocer. He lived at 20 West Poplar in Walla Walla. He was tall and of medium build, with grey eyes and brown hair.[5]
His Veteran's Service card showed the following service during World War 1:[6]
Co G 161 Inf to Jun 14/1918; Co I 161 Inf to Jun 20/1918, Military Specialist Co 1 st Dep Div to Jul 17/1918; Co E 116 Sup Tn to Jul ----; Served overseas Dec 13/1917 to Jun 9/1919.
When he registered for the World War 2 Draft in 1942, he lived at a Veterans' Administration Facility in Walla Walla. He name his sister, Mrs. Roy Tompkins, as the person who would always know his whereabouts.[3]
Leo died on 17 June 1963.[1][7] He was buried on 22 June 1963 at the Mountain View Cemetery, Plot WALLA-CA-1-14-12, Catholic Section, Walla Walla, Walla Walla Co., Washington.[1][8]
