Biography

Samuel McDowell was born about 1797 in South Carolina. A marriage license was issued November 10, 1826 to Samuel and Thos Scott JP joined them in marriage on September 23, 1827 in Davidson, Tennessee, USA. ^[1]Samuel was listed as a farmer in 1860. He had real estate valued at $900. and Samuel had personal property of $300. His household included his wife, Sarah, and 5 other people, 4 of which were most likely their children: Mary Ann 20, Samuel S 18, James P 15 and Nancy T 12. Susan E Elington 26 was also living with them. ^[2]

John McDowell passed away in 1742. Birth dates of Michael, James and Samuel are after that. Magdelena was over 63 when James and Samuel were born.

Only children fathered after 1744 should be named Borden - Should Michael LNAB be "Borden"?
