Biography
In 1840 he married Mary Jane McElvaney, who was born in Orange County, N. Y., in 1821, and was a daughter of Charles and Catharine McElvaney. The McElvaney family came to this country from the north Of Ireland about 1800. Mrs. Wheeler died in Buffalo June 22, 1905. The children of Joel Wheeler were twin brother and sister, Albert J. and Mary Frances.
