DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Moses by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Moses:

McElveen-109 and McElveen-11 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, same parents, same dates

This Moses is the son of a William McElveen who died in 1837. He went to Mississippi with siblings John and Margaret. They received a passport from the governor of Georgia and set out from Bulloch County Georgia (passports were required to go west for all travelers) I believe the Moses who married in 1845 is a nephew of this Moses.

There are two families that have been intermingled. One went to Mississippi. One is in Georgia.

We can't lose any of them, but they apparently come from different South Carolina Roots. One from Sumter that probably went to Mississippi One from Williamsburg that probably went to Georgia

They probably have a common ancestor in Scotland. - There is another Moses who married in Georgia which seems more likely to be with the father William Emmanuel also in Georgia.

There are William McElveens in both Sunter and Williamsburg. More Research is needed, but if this Moses who came to Mississippi, married in 1816 in Mississippi and died in Mississippi is not as likely to be from the Georgian family as the Moses who married 1845 in Georgia. It's too hard to juggle both people at the same time. Let's resolve the Georgian connection and return to this in the near future. I am disconnecting this one for now, but let's gather the Mississippi family together in one place. Is there a person that's tying them together that came from South Carolina to MississippI?

McElveen-11 and McElveen-109 do not represent the same person because: Because this person lived in Mississippi and should n ot be merged with anybody in South Carolina.

This Henry McElveen went to Mississippi - I'm going to take him out of this family for now until we find a place he fits.

McElveen-109 and McElveen-11 appear to represent the same person because: they share similar vital statistics, the same parents and some of the same siblings.

I removed Moses Birthdate as he was born after his mother's death. We need to look at both his and Margaret McElveen's files more critically soon.
