David was the second son of James McFarland and Elizabeth (Betsy) Wall. His older sister, Elizabeth (McFarland)Claybrook was born Sept 15, 1825. His older brother, Banister Wall McFarland was born March 6, 1827.
Allie (Wright) Osborne wrote in 1941 in the "Waltrip Family History"that they lived and reared a family on the old Waltrip farm, but moved to Curdsville where they spent their last days and died.
