John Walter McFarland was born about 1832 in Missouri. In 1850 John is 19 years old and living with his parents, David and Rebecca McFarland in Lincoln County, Missouri. ^[1]

John W McFarland and Mary Ann O'Neill were married 10 July 1859 in Gonzalez, Texas. ^[2]

John Walter McFarland died 2 January 1902 and is buried in the Copeland Cemetery, Lincoln County, New Mexico. ^[3]
