Ann was born in 1801 in England.[1] She passed away in 1895. [2]
According to an atlas presented to William Rowland, William resided at Kingston-On-Thames, England at the time the family embarked for Canada in 1843. The Atlas: Black's General Atlas published at Edinburgh MDCCCXLI. The following inscription is on the flyleaf: "This Atlas is presented to Mr. William Rowland by his Townsman, William Mercer, as a mark of his esteem and regard, for the services he has rendered to this community, and in another hemisphere he trusts the work may prove both interesting and profitable. Kingston-On-Thames, England, 22nd. February 1843." (The Atlas was presented to Rowland J. Miller by his cousin, Edith Rowland.)
William Rowland and his wife Ann McFarland came to Canada May 17, 1843. They were 7 weeks crossing in a sailing vessel. Before settling in London, Ontario, a village in 1843, the family settled on a farm on the third concession of the Township, in the neighbourhood of what is now known as Hyde Park where Ann was born. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 9, 1874, in London, Ontario. All their living children were present. They were both buried in London, Ontario.
Alfred married Elizabeth Clissold, daughter of Mary McFarland, 1st wife of Samuel Clissold.
Malcolm died in New Orleans at the age of 25
Mary and Arthur Johnson lived in Ingersoll, Ontario, and are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, Ontario.
Anne and John Miller were married in 1865, lived in London and then moved to Toronto. (Source: Jane Hughes)
