Biography

Margaret (McFarlane) McFarland is buried in Guilford Union Cemetery, Winnebago County, Illinois.

Margaret was born in Argyll, Scotland in 1841. She was the daughter of Andrew McFarlane and Jane Reid. ^[1][2]

The family immigrated to the United States in 1858 and settled in Guilford Township, Illinois. ^[3]

She never married. In 1870 she lived with her sister Janet. ^[4]

In 1900 she was living with her sister Anna. ^[5]

Margaret died in 1926. ^[6]

Obituary

MISS M’FARLANE EXPIRES FROM ILLS OF ADVANCED AGE

Miss Margaret McFarlane, a resident of Guilford Township for 67 years, died Tuesday evening at 5 o’clock at the home of her nephew William McFarlane after a long period of decline from Infirmities incindent to her advanced years.

She was born in Scotland May 17, 1841. Beside the nephew William she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ann McDonald, also of Guilford Township and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday after at 2:30 o’clock at the residence. Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery. ^[7]
