Edith Christine was born June 28, 1906 to James McGee and Edith Shields.
In 1920 Christine lived with her widowed mother and siblings at Beat 1, Philadelphia Precinct, Neshoba County, Mississippi.[1]
Mrs. Jones (Christine) Rea , 70, died suddenly at her home on Sunset Drive in Brandon early Monday morning, January 24.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday from the First Baptist Church in Brandon with the Rev.Thomas Baddley officiating. Interment was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, Miss. Baldwin Funeral Home on Hwy. 80 E. was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rae was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James I. McGee of Leland. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a retired secretary with the Mississippi State Highway Safety Patrol.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Hilton Robbins of Pelahatchie; three brothers, Ronald A. McGee of Magnolia, Ark., Tildon McGee of Pacific Pallisades, Calif., and Harold M. Bailey of Jackson. She was proceeded in death by her husband in 1972 and by her son, Norman in 1974.
Pallbearers were Joe Stubblefield, St. Ray, Marcus Martin, Carson Stribling, Alton Rogers and Hayes Graves. Members of the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol were honorary pallbearers.
