Elizabeth Wright is the wife of Thomas Wright, born about 1733 in Essex County, Virginia and he died January 24, 1791 Cumberland County, Virginia. They were married in 1767 in Cumberland County, Virginia.

Her parents are Edward Thomas McGehee, born 1699 King William County, Virginia, died 1771, Cumberland County, Virginia and Katrenia Elizabeth DeJarnette, born 1709 Abingdon Parish, Gloucester County, Virginia, died 1783 Prince Edward County, Virginia.

Slaves Edward McGehee wrote his Last Will and Testament on 4 April 1770, and it was submitted for probate on 28 Jan 1771.[5]. In it, he distributed his enslaved people to his heirs. Bequeathed to daughter Elizabeth (McGehee) Wright (abt.1739-1821):
