Biography
When James McGhee was born on August 1, 1830, in Kilmaurs, Ayrshire, his father, James, was 34 and his mother, Mary, was 33. He married Mary Falconer Cameron and they had 10 children together between 1852 and 1871. He then married Janet Maxwell and they had seven children together between 1874 and 1893. He died on September 11, 1897, in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at the age of 67.
