Jean was the daughter of John McGhie and Margaret McClure, She was Baptised on 22 Oct 1732 in Tongland, Kirkcudbright, Scotland.[1]
Joseph wrote in the family Bible:
At the age of 14 yrs, 6 mos and 12 days she married Joseph Lawrie in Scotland on 01 Apr 1748.[2]

She passed away on 12 Sep 1762. She may have died from childbirth,
