Biography

Born in 1888, Esther was the daughter of James McGill and Nancy Barker.[1] She married William Albert Davis (1889-1967) in Gilmer County, Georgia in October of 1908., and they had eight children:

Bessie (1910-1996)
Bertha (b. 1914)
Claude (1916-1920)
Annie (1929-1979)
Callie (1923-2008)
Frank Homer (1925-2000)
Paul (b. 1932)
Private

They raised their family in Mullins, Georgia, where Willie took up farming [2] Farming must have been difficult, as Willie also was working at a lumber mill in 1930.[3][4] Esther died in 1962 and is buried at Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Canton.[5]
