Robin Oig, born 1716, the youngest of his siblings, murdered John MacLaren of Invernenty in 1736. In 1745, he fought under the Duke of Cumberland at the battle of Fontenoy, where the English were ignominiously defeated and he was captured by the French. He obtained his discharge, fought for the Jacobites in the "45", and married a sister of Graham of Drunkie. She died three years later. In 1750 he kidnapped Jean Key, aged 20, from her home and married her by force of her protests. He was caught and hanged four years later, when he was 38.
