Hi Jeffrey,

Wales Project Semi-Annual Check-In

Thank you for being a member of the Wales Project. You may recall membership requires at least one contribution to project goals during each 6-month period. A contribution includes creation of and modification to Wales related profiles.

Have you been able to contribute?

It is recognized some members are active. Thank you for your work. (There is no viable method to determine which members have been active in the Wales Project.)

  • Do you desire to stay on your current project team(s)?
  • Which teams are you most active in?
  • Are there other teams you would like to join or become more active in?
  • Also, do you have any feedback on what the project is doing well and anything we could do better in the future?

Please respond to this message by posting a reply in Comments below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Stuart Awbrey, Membership Coordinator

Hello,

I am checking in on behalf of the 1776 Project to announce the new project membership requirements and to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. All project members are being asked to join one of the project teams and also to make at least one project contribution every 6 months. We are also asking all project members to join the project's Google Group for project communications.

If you are interested in remaining with the Project, please reply to this comment or send me a message, request to join the Google Group, and let us know what team you would like to participate on.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

If we don't hear back from you we will assume that you no longer wish to participate in the project and if so, you could rejoin at any time as is convenient for you.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Jeffrey,

Thank you so much for all your contributions to WikiTree in the last six months, and especially to the Wales Project. It’s been wonderful to have you as part of the team as we work together to increase the quality and quantity of Welsh Profiles.

I have you down as being on the Glamorgan Team. Is this right? How are things going? Do you have any questions? What can we do to support you? Would you like to change any of your teams? Do you want to continue in the Wales Project moving forwards?

I also see you aren’t in on the Discord server. You’d be very welcome to join us where we have live text and voice conversations which really helps with collaboration. Just let me know and I can send you an invitation.

I look forward to hearing back from you with all the above.

Thanks once again,

Olivia, Project Coordinator for Wales :-)

Hi Jeffrey,

I'm so sorry to hear you feel out of the loop. I'll do everything I can to help you out. You are on the trusted list for the Glamorgan Team page which can be found here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Glamorgan_Team. There are some suggestions on the page on how you can get involved. Glamorgan doesn't currently have a Team Leader but we hope to be able to make an announcement on that soon. That will definitely help bring the team together.

In the mean time, I'll send you an invitation to Discord via private message so look out for that. If there is anything else I can help with, or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes,

Olivia :-)

Hi Jeffrey, Please don't use the term 'British Colonial America' in location names. See this discussion on G2G: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/335230/should-british-colonial-america-be-used-as-a-location?show=335230#q335230

Thanks!

Welcome to the 1776 Project (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:1776), a subproject of the Military and War Project: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects#Military_and_War_Project

There are category links to add to your ancestor's profiles and research links to learn more about your family. The Project is a good way to consolidate the WikiTree ancestors with historic connections to the years of 1773 (Boston Tea Party) to 1789 (ratification of the U.S. Constitution.) All patriot, loyalist, Hessians, French, Native Americans or any other profiles with a connection to these years should be linked to an appropriate category in the Project.

If you haven’t already, please set your preferences for your Tags Followed to include 1776 Project and any other tag terms that you wish to follow: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

Some categories have a template (SAR) to add at the top of a biography. If not, add a category link by putting the category name such as Template:1776 for those who bore arms in the Revolution and Template:1776 for those who contributed patriotic or civil service. Thank you.

Hi Jeffrey , Thanks for your message. Excellent and welcome! I've added the United Kingdom Project badge to your profile as the Wales project is part of the UK Project. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Click on Wales Project will take you the first page of the project. Thanks for adding your name to the list of participants.

You'll also find info on how to join the UK project google group on the first page of the UK Project. I'll let you explore and catch up with you later.

Thanks again for joining, enjoy and good luck with your research.

Hi Jeffrey, I am so pleased to hear from another McGrew researcher! I just created the McGrew Name Study here on WikiTree a couple days ago in an attempt to highlight the work that is being done on FTDNA by John McGrew and others. Descendants hold tight to the belief that the McGrews descend from the MacGregor Clan and so I want to get the word out that our DNA proves otherwise. So far, it's been too early for me to set any other goals for the Name Study, but once we get a few members, I would like to hear from everyone what goals they would like to accomplish. It sounds like you might have an interesting mystery to tackle. Was there a possible adoption in your family that would explain your descent from the Doble family?

McGrew-489 and McGrew-81 appear to represent the same person because: Hi Michele,

I just joined wikitree and noticed you had already started a tree with me included.
