Martha McGuire Ragan was born March 20, 1865 in Georgia. She was the daughter of Green Tilman McGuire and Mary Catherine Thomason.
According to the 1870 Census, Martha was a six year old, white female living in Powder Springs, Campbell County, Georgia with her parents and the following siblings: David McGuire, Charles McGuire, John McGuire, Joel McGuire, Delilah McGuire, James McGuire, Green McGuire, and Elisa McGuire. Her birthplace was listed as Georgia.[1]
On the 1880 Census, she was listed as a 15 year old, single, white female living in Haralson County, Georgia, with her parents and the following siblings: James McGuire, Green McGuire, Elizabeth McGuire, Alonzo McGuire, Emma McGuire, Minnie McGuire, and Enoch McGuire. Her brother, John Benjamin McGuire, lived next door with his family. Her occupation was listed as "at home." The birthplaces of Martha and her father were listed as Georgia, and her mother's birthplace was listed as South Carolina.[2]
She died on September 19, 1949 in Georgia.
