You have Duncan and Jean's son Duncan born 1781 in Scotland and going to the United States and marrying Jane Elizabeth Prestwood. This is wrong! Duncan, the son of Reverend Duncan and Jean MacIntyre, was born in Scotland, probably at Kilmallie on 10 February, 1815. He immigrated to Sydney, Australia on board the ship "Hooghley", arriving on 11 October, 1836. He married Marjorie Cameron, a fellow-passenger a few days after arriving in Sydney. Marjorie's parents and siblings were also passengers on the "Hooghley". The Cameron family and Duncan and Marjorie journeyed to the present day Canberra area (the capitol city of Australia, but in 1836 it was very remote bush country, near the old country town of Queanbeyan). They were sponsored by Charles Campbell (the local landed gentry) of the Duntroon Estate. Duncan McIntyre worked as a shepherd for the Campbell family. Nine years after arriving in Australia, Duncan was accidentally shot dead. He was survived by his widow Marjorie and four sons. One son, Alexander McIntryre, born 1841, was my husband's great-grandfather. You have various children of Reverend Duncan MacIntyre and Jean MacIntyre immigrating to the United States. As far as I know, none of the children ended up in America. Our "Hooghley" Duncan came to Australia, also three of his siblings.
