(George) Gordon McKAY was born in February 1889.
He was the son of John McKay and Annie Gibson.
Gordon served in the First World War with the 5th Field Artillery Brigade [5 FAB] in the 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column. He enlisted on August 4 1916 with Service Number 8968. He embarked on-board HMAS A39 Port Macquarie on November 1915. He was recommended for Work near Chateau Wood, near Ypres, on October 1918 and received the Military Medal.

He passed away in May 1972 in his 74th year.[1]
